Heroku Postgres 14 deprecation
Change effective on 28 May 2025
Heroku is deprecating support for all databases running Postgres 14. This deprecation is part of our documented version support policy. The end-of-life date is November 28, 2025.
Our schedule for deprecating all Postgres 14 databases is as follows:
- May 28, 2025: We send a deprecation notification to Heroku Postgres 14 database users.
- August 28, 2025: You can’t create Postgres 14 databases after this date. You can still create forks and followers of existing databases.
- October 28, 2025: Forced upgrades on deprecated Postgres 14 databases start.
- November 28, 2025: We start restricting database access and deleting databases for Postgres 14 databases after this end-of-life date.
We urge you to upgrade your databases with the new version upgrade commands to the next version as soon as possible so you can test application compatibility and perform the migration on your own schedule.
